Saudi Arabia has claimed the lion’s share of venture capital in the Middle East and North Africa, capturing 56 % of regional investment with $860 million deployed across 114 deals in the first half of 2025, according to MAGNiTT figures.
This surge—the equivalent to the Kingdom’s total VC funding in all of 2024—highlights accelerating investor confidence. Key factors include robust regulatory reform, considerable sovereign support through entities like the Saudi Venture Capital Company (SVC), and a strategic pivot under Vision 2030 to bolster private-sector growth.
Leading sectors drawing traction include fintech, AI, digital health, and clean technology. The data also points to increased deal volume, with Saudi deals accounting for 35 % of total transaction activity in MENA.
Silvina Moschini, co‑founder of Unicorn Hunters, emphasised that Vision 2030 has “placed entrepreneurship at the heart of Saudi growth,” noting that global investors are attracted to the Kingdom’s supportive ecosystem.
With momentum building in the second half of 2025 and key events like LEAP and Riyadh’s FII on the horizon, Saudi Arabia is rapidly positioning itself as MENA’s leading innovation hub—offering rich investment opportunities for global stakeholders.
