US-based renewable energy startup Omnidian has acquired Australian company Solar Service Guys, strengthening its footprint in one of the world’s most solar-active markets. The deal sees Solar Service Guys, which claims to operate Australia’s largest solar service network, become a fully integrated subsidiary of the Seattle-headquartered firm.
Founded in 2006, Solar Service Guys offers a wide range of solar maintenance, performance, and technical services for both residential and commercial customers. The acquisition positions Omnidian to expand its international service capabilities and scale its AI-driven solar monitoring technology in a market where rooftop solar is already mainstream.
According to Omnidian, Australia leads the world in solar installations per capita, making it a strategic growth target. The acquisition will enable the company to provide end-to-end monitoring and maintenance solutions for solar customers across both hemispheres.
Omnidian’s technology platform remotely detects performance issues with solar panels, helping operators optimise output and avoid costly downtime. The company employs over 260 staff and raised $25 million in funding in 2023. It currently ranks 52nd on GeekWire’s list of top Pacific Northwest startups.
“Acquiring Solar Service Guys strengthens our ability to scale internationally while maintaining the high standard of service that customers in Australia already expect,” the company said in a statement.
This marks Omnidian’s first international acquisition and reflects growing global interest in AI-enabled clean energy management.
